NHL HOCKEY 15 PC
Version 1.0
NHL95 PC CONVERSION

BY: GOODBYECCHA
UPLOADED: 12/30/2014

HOW TO USE THIS CONVERSION:
Copy all of the files from the NHL15PC folder into the folder that contains your NHL95 PC files. Overwrite all existing files.

I highly recommend creating a copy of your existing NHL95 PC folder and using that as the base for NHL15PC. This is because the conversion is more than just new rosters. It includes all new in-game logos, jerseys, and ice surfaces.

Also by creating a separate folder for NHL15PC you can run the conversion separately from NHL95 as if it was its own game.

WHAT'S IN THIS CONVERSION?
- 28 up-to-date NHL teams based on the start of the 2014-2015 NHL Season.
- Updated jersey's for each team.
- Updated scoreboard crests for each team.
- Updated rosters for each team (see below for more roster details).
- A customized RINK.QFS file for each team.
- Updated logos for each team on the exhibition select screen.
- Some (not all) game screen updates.

WHAT TEAMS ARE IN THE CONVERSION?
- It is simpler to list what team aren't. Phoenix and Columbus did not make the cut. Minnesota and Nashville replace the two all-star teams and therefore are only playable in exhibition games.
- In order to make the divisions match as close as possible the current NHL divisions the following changes were made:
	- Toronto was changed to Colorado
	- Quebec was changed to Toronto
	- Hartford was changed to Florida
	- Florida was changed to Carolina
	- Pittsburgh was changed to Tampa Bay
	- Tampa Bay was changed to Pittsburgh
	- Detroit was chosen to remain in the Western Conference (Central Division)
- So some of the team codes do not match and the digized speech will be incorrect for some teams. (This can be remedied by turning off the digitized speech in the settings.)

HOW ARE THE ROSTERS UPDATED?
- The rosters are pulled directly from the latest EA Sports NHL 15 (XBox in particular) game using the rosters and attributes from the first offical roster update. At this point in the season the rosters are no longer accurate (if someone would like to update them that would be awesome).
- The player attributes are scaled from the attributes in PS3/XBox version so that the game plays similar to the original NHL95. The baseline values are 100 and 45 for each relevant attribute category. Here is an example:
	- Liam O'Brian, a LW that plays for Washington has the lowest stickhandling rating in NHL15XBox at 69.
In NHL15PC his stickhandling rating is set to 45.
	- Erik Karlsson, a D that plays for Ottawa, and Sydney Crosby, a C that plays for Pittsburgh, have the highest stickhandling rating in
NHL15Xbox at 95. In NHL15PC their stickhandling ratings are set to 100.
	- All of the other players are ratings are scaled accordingly using a simple linear conversion function.
	- If the player attributes were dumped directly into NHL95PC all the of players play essentially the same which may be more realistic but
	  I think much less fun.
- There is no subjective player ratings in the rosters by me. So if you don't like them please blame EA :-)
- Lines are by no means accurate. They are setup using a simple system. The highest rated LW is assigned to LW on the first line. The second highest
rated LW is assigned to the second line...and so forth. Please edit the lines as you see fit.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE ICE?
- There is a sub-folder in this release called "RINKS". Inside that folder there is a folder for each team. In each team folder is the corresponding RINK.QFS file. Copy this file into the master folder, overwriting the existing RINK.QFS file in the process. I have no experience writing .BAT files but this would be a perfect application to automate this process. If anybody would like to write one and share it that would also be awesome.

WHAT'S WRONG IN THIS RELEASE?
- Updated career stats for each player. I am still fooling around with the career stats trying to get seasons to reasonably simulate CPU played games and stats.
- The team select screen for season and playoff play uses the same logos as the calender screen in season play. But I can't get the logos to display correctly in both. So I chose to make the logos display on the calender correctly since that is the screen you will be looking at more often.
- Player pics in the roster screens are not updated. So a picture of Ray Bourque is linked to Joe Schmoe on the Bruins.
- I did not mess with the HOCKEY.EXE file like I did in the NCAA conversion I did. So team codes are wrong for some teams, team names are wrong for some teams in exhibition select.
- Same old stuff: Can't add teams to the database so not all teams are in the game. Can't edit sound files so rink names are announced wrong, team names are announced wrong.
